Something you have probably heard in the past about skincare is that it is important to only use products from the same range/supplier in order to correctly care for your skin…. NOT TRUE! This is a marketing and sales tool used to encourage you to purchase the entire range of products they offer. This makes changing or trying a new skincare range expensive and sometimes impracticable.
If you are already using skincare but you are looking at trying Bubbles, you can do it whichever way is easiest for you. You may want to start using our product exclusively and buy the entire range – great!
Or you may have one or two absolute favourite products that you can’t imagine living without like an eye gel or hydration serum… if so you can simply integrate these products into your Bubbles skin care routine. If you want to start using our range but still have a few months left with some of your current products – simply purchase the products you have run out of first ademo.artifexstudio.com.au and build from there as you need…
If you have any questions about any of the above please contact us and we will be happy to help!
Initially there were many different reasons for establishing the Bubbles Essential Wellbeing skin care range. One of the most motivating factors was to eliminate skin care confusion. Selecting a product to purchase from some retail ranges could baffle a skin care professional even with their extensive knowledge and understanding of the industry. Choosing and using skin care should be enjoyable and most of all easy!
The best example of this is a face cleanser. Basically a cleanser is a cleanser. Its sole purpose is to clean the skin of makeup, dirt and impurities in a gentle and safe manner. There is absolutely no need for five or more different variations of this simple product in the one range and yet some companies would have you choose from this many. This is exactly the type of confusion we are hoping to avoid.
How you choose to look after your skin is a very personal choice. A skin care regime could be as simple as using pure jojoba oil as both a cleanser and a moisturiser morning and night. This along with the ever-important sun protection could be all you choose to use. You might be at the other end of the scale and use a cleanser, face mist, face serum, moisturiser, eye balm, night cream and a weekly face polish and mask, or you might find yourself somewhere in the middle like the majority of the population. Either way the decision should be yours.
The following information will help you understand what each basic skin care product can do for your skin and why you would use this particular product. This will help you make a more informed decision about whether or not you would like to use that particular product and if it would benefit your skin type and condition. NB – We have also provided a detailed table that will help you choose suitable Bubbles products for your skin type and condition. A link to take you directly to this table will follow this important product information.
As mentioned above – a cleanser's sole purpose is to clean your skin of make up, dirt and impurities in a gentle and safe manner. When we say safe we are talking about your skin's acid mantle or sebum balance. When a cleanser's pH level is not balanced to suit the skin, it can be harmful and irritating. A basic professional cleanser should be able to clean just about any skin type and condition without causing an adverse reaction. There is no need for expensive active ingredients in a cleanser when it is completely washed off!
We do offer two products that will clean the skin both effectively and safely – the reason for this is one of these products is pure jojoba oil which can be used on its own as a complete skincare regime. We believe it is important to offer this for those people who want the simplest of routines. The other is our pH balanced basic cream cleanser which is suitable for every skin type including sensitive, acne and oily skins.
Another common misconception is that everyone should cleanse their skin morning and night. If you clean your skin at night – it is completely acceptable, or even preferable, to simply rinse your face or to use a face mist the next morning. For extra oily skin types or for those who sweat profusely overnight, cleansing in the morning may be advisable but for normal, dry and, well, most skin types it is simply a waste of product.
This is such a grey area in the beauty industry. It used to be common knowledge to those who studied beauty therapy or worked with skin care ranges that you cleanse, tone and moisturise morning and night. This is no longer the case. Old-school toners were basically a mix of water and alcohol and were both drying and sometimes irritating to most skin types.
Some skin care companies stopped using them completely while others still believe they play a role in a skin care routine. The purpose of a toner is to remove the excess cleanser and to balance the skin. If you use a cloth to remove your pH-balanced cleanser properly, you have eliminated the need for a toner altogether.
A more effective and beneficial product and the one we choose to offer is the face mist. For those of you diehard routine junkies – you can use a face mist when you would normally have used your toner. Misting is great for first thing in the morning to use under your face cream and sun protection and for using throughout the entire day. Great for long car trips, planes, people with dry, dehydrated skin and perfect to leave in the fridge during the warmer months of the year. Unlike toners, face mists are usually hydrosols or naturally infused aromatic waters that feel and smell incredible.
Another product with LOTS of names in the industry! Cream, lotion, moisturiser, crème, whip, butter, balm etc etc…
The different descriptions mostly apply to the varying consistencies and uses for each. Basically some sort of face and body cream should be used EVERYDAY. Another fun fact you may not know is that your body is made up of up to 75% water and your skin is your body’s biggest organ so water loss from your body through the skin happens 24 hours a day. This can leave your skin feeling dry and dehydrated if it is not looked after properly.
Other than the most important hydration rule of drinking at least 2 litres of water each day, we also need look after our skin using some form of oil/cream. People with naturally dry or mature ageing skin may need extra nourishment from the richer creams and body butters that also include dry/mature skin-specific carrier oils and extracts, while those with oily or normal skins may prefer a lighter, more water-based lotion or cream. Some of you will use a lighter lotion in the morning and choose a more intensive cream for night. Whichever you decide – you should use some sort of cream on both your face and body at least once a day.
Other than the fact that it is a well known indulgence to use one, Face Masks have many other benefits you should consider. Daily cleansing and moisturising is fantastic for looking after the surface layers of your skin and will help maintain your skin's vital sebum balance.
However external factors like sun exposure, wind, pollution, dirt, grime, sweat and not to mention all of those not-so nutritional food items we eat, all play a part in our skin’s overall wellbeing. Plus there are those of us with skin conditions that need a little extra TLC like acne, roseacea and extra dry/mature skin types.
This is when Masks will come to the rescue. With a more concentrated formulation of active ingredients to suit your skin's specific concern, using a mask one or twice a week will help you achieve the results you want faster and more effectively. Whether it's rejuvenation, nourishment, reduced inflammation and blemishes, or simply hydration you want – a mask will do the job.
These products also come under a lot of different names – exfoliators, buffers and scrubs to name just a few. We call them polishes because that’s what we believe they do. You already have smooth skin – it is just hiding under some dead skin cells waiting to be revealed!
You may not know this but your skin regenerates every 28 days with new skin cells being pushed up to the surface. Only problem is that sometimes you can’t see them because of all the old skin that is sitting on top. This is why we polish. By gently polishing the surface layers of the skin you help bring those sparkling new skin cells through which means softer, more evenly textured skin.
It also helps encourage skin renewal and circulation which all adds up to healthier, happier skin.
Every different skin type and condition will have different needs. You may need to exfoliate your skin every second night for a while or you may only need to do it once a week. With skin conditions like rosacea or dermatitis and eczema, you will need to use much more gentle massaging movements than someone with sun damaged or dry skin.
Once again there are various descriptive names given to these products. In essence, this type of product is usually used to heal and improve a specific skin concern.
They can be formulated for anything from anti ageing, acne, pigmentation, dehydration etc. This is what most companies refer to as their corrective treatment and these can be really REALLY expensive and in some cases exuberantly so.
This is one product where it is really important to look carefully at every ingredient used to ensure you are getting a treatment that will in fact give you the results it promises and at the same time offers value for money.
